La’al Big Band on the radio!

bbc_radio_cumbriaIf you saw the band at the Theatre by the Lake, Keswick, recently, you’d have seen that Harry King, from BBC Radio Cumbria, was there helping us out with some compering during the show. Harry and his team were also recording the show.

If you missed Harry on the radio on Sunday, he played a selection of numbers from our Keswick gig, and said some really positive things about the band – thanks Harry, the cheque’s in the post!!

For a short time only, you can listen again to Harry here – http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p01s6h25. If you don’t want to listen to it all, jump forward to about 1 hour 34 mins into his show for the La’al Big Band spot.

Harry’s producer, John Lipscombe, was also at the theatre with Harry, and he has his own show on BBC Radio Cumbria. John was kind enough to also play a couple of numbers from our gig, and say more good things about the band! You can listen again to John’s show here – http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p01s6h2d –  he talks about us as an intro to Kimo Samba at about 13 mins 40 secs into his show, and then plays Bones for Basie at about 1 hour 21 mins!
